Complex Acetabular Hip Fracture Surgery

Published on 13 Mar, 24

22 yrs old Young adult patient came to us with motorcycle accident (head on collision) sustained injuries in his right hip region. His xray and ct showed Acetabular wall fracture with neck femur and posteriorly dislocated freely mobile femur head. Thus he planned for open fixation of neck fracture with multiple ccs first followed by hip joint reduction and then posterior wall fixation with multiple plates and screws. His hip joint becomes stable and all torn short rotators and capsule repaired back. An unusual case not seen frequently. Avn chances explained to patient and his relatives as hip replacement can be done in later stage too. Expert opinions for this particular scenario are most welcomed.
