Geriatric fracture surgery

Old age lady came to us with left sided complex hip and wrist fractures following fall at home. She was treated at a government setup with just traction for hip fracture and plaster for wrist injury and was suggested for conservative management due to old age high risk problems.Her ECG showed lot of changes with low ejection fraction with severe anemia. After 10 days she came to me with a bed sore and in a miserable condition. Thus after stabilization she underwent minimally invasive fracture fixation surgeries with all safety measures. Later on she discharged happily with full confidence to stand again. Elderly patients require special attention and early mobilization.
